And yes, it’s the beginning to writing a compelling college essay that makes the application pop. But there’s more. Strong storytelling is in the writing and it’s in extracting juicy details that make an essay prompt of 650 words sparkle. That’s where I can help and that’s why my technique of college essay writing stands out from college consultants who may charge a lot, but aren’t specialized in crafting authentic, exceptional and interesting stories.

I’ve spent my entire career in storytelling. As a writer, author, journalist, film director, producer, speaker and media and branding expert, I know not only how to capture a personal story, but how to package and write it. I also have two college-aged kids and have been through this process. My secret sauce is tapping into the zeitgeist and weaving it into the essays to create comprehensive applications that make applicants shine.

As hundreds of colleges went test optional and test blind in 2020, many speculated that the essays would matter more than ever. My daughter didn’t submit a test score when she applied in 2020, so I saw up close the impact smart and creative storytelling made on college decisions. As schools continue to be test optional and are inundated with record numbers of applications, admissions officers insist that those essay absolutely can make the difference.
